Marlene Cole

Cofounder + Senior Designer

Marlene Cole has designed award-winning work for clients such as +Rise, Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, New England Baptist Hospital, and SpotOn. She is an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at MassArt, her alma mater, where she also served as director of the school’s Graphic Design Mentor Program. She was chosen to participate in a study abroad program to Tokyo and Seoul, where she studied the design philosophies of several renowned studios. Marlene is a first-place recipient of the 2018 Book Builders of Boston Scholarship. Prior to joining Proper Villains, she interned at Stoltze Design Group in Boston and at MullenLowe in New York City and Boston, producing work for clients such as Harley Davidson, Harvard Business School, and Mount Gay Distilleries.
