Marlene Cole

Designer

Marlene Cole is a graduate of MassArt, where she served as director of the school’s Graphic Design Mentor Program. She was one of a small group of students chosen to participate in a study abroad program to Tokyo and Seoul. While overseas, she visited and studied the design philosophies of studios including IDEO Tokyo, AQ Works, IDEA Magazine, Hakuhodo, Studio Hik, and Ordinary People. She is a first place recipient of the 2018 Book Builders of Boston Scholarship. Marlene has contributed meaningful design work for clients including New England Baptist Hospital, Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate, and SpotOn. She actively participates in speaking engagements on the topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the work force. Prior to joining Proper Villains, she interned at Stoltze Design Group in Boston, and at MullenLowe in both New York City and Boston, working for clients such as Harley Davidson, Harvard Business School, and Mount Gay Distilleries.
